Santiago 2020, Chile
Stgo2020 was a project developed by RubiCo DILAB and CEDEUS During 2015. The project was focused mainly on discovering the routes most frequently used by bike users. As a result, the project unveiled what the most used streets were, the least ones, how bike users behavior change depending on time, day and gender. The infographic developed by the project was carefully designed, reducing numbers and increasing visual patterns, you can observe this on Stgo2020’s heat maps. A very dynamic but also revealing assets are animations since without further knowledge is possible for every viewer to understand what the peak hours are, the most frequently used streets but also observe cluster activities in a single video.
Stgo2020’s results were presented to Chile’s ministry of transport where the data and assets produced by the project were used for the bike lanes design of Chile’s capital city. The project was shown and displayed at the 2015 World Bike Forum and since then it has been awarded from the private and public sector.
